“…powered” by all of us.” But PAID for by a select few.

“…a global community that will lead our leaders into making the right decision.” More like global thugs bent on redistributing wealth according to their own self-righteous agenda.

“The promise that by solving our environmental crisis, we can solve our economic crisis at the same time.” Just how, exactly, does having cleaner air promote trade, create jobs, and put food on the table?

Progressivism, at its core, is about man replacing God — certain men who get the progressive’s stamp of approval, anyway. Does anything state that more clearly than the first statement they smack you with on this website?

Aaaaahhhh. The stench of smug, self-righteous arrogance. What a way to start the day.

The five men facing trial in the Sept. 11 attacks will plead not guilty so that they can air their criticisms of U.S. foreign policy, the lawyer for one of the defendants said Sunday.

Scott Fenstermaker, the lawyer for accused terrorist Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali, said the men would not deny their role in the 2001 attacks but “would explain what happened and why they did it.”

As a reward for taking part in murdering thousands of Americans, these asshats want a stage to mount their hate-America production. And this administration’s response?

Officers armed with beanbag guns stood by as hundreds of protesters chanted, marched and even took over a building Thursday on the UCLA campus, where University of California regents were scheduled to vote on a 32 percent student fee increase.

The demonstrators outside UCLA’s Covel Commons building chanted, beat drums and waved signs urging “No fee hikes” and “Wanted: Leadership.”

Wait just a minute. What’s this? Footage from a documentary maker who happened to be in the area.

The guy who got this footage labeled it a “near riot.” Now I wonder why the unbiased media wouldn’t want people to see the crowd straining the barriers separating them from the police? The angry faces of those jeering at the police?

I mean, the AP, CNN, et al, are there to tell the whole truth of the story. Right?

Latino advocacy groups are ramping up pressure on Congress to expand health coverage for immigrants as the lawmakers grapple with historic health-reform legislation.

Activists and health-policy experts who support greater immigrant coverage are concentrating their efforts on the Senate, which is expected to bar illegal immigrants from participating in health insurance exchanges, as stipulated in the Senate Finance Committee’s bill, even if they pay with their own funds and no federal subsidies.

The House voted last weekend to deny federal subsidies to help illegal immigrants buy insurance but allow them to buy health insurance from government-created insurance exchanges.

One of the reasons there was a national Tea Party Against Amnesty last weekend. ‘Cause, you know, it’s not like we have any amnesty history to examine to tell us if it will work or not.

And here’s the ultimate ironic twist: we could end up paying for health care for illegals as we’re racking up fines and even jail time because we can’t afford to pay for our own.

Is there anything the government can touch without screwing it up…and screwing we, the people?

The city council of Tampa, Fla., voted unanimously last week to include “gender identity and expression” as a protected class under the city’s human rights ordinance, leading some to fear the council has opened the city’s public bathroom doors to sexual predators masquerading as protected transsexuals.

A statement from the American Family Association explained, “Tampa Police arrested Robert Johnson in February 2008 for hanging out in the locker room–restroom area at Lifestyle Fitness and watching women in an undressed state. The City of Tampa’s ‘gender identity’ ordinance could provide a legal defense to future cases like this if the accused claims that his gender is female.”

The council’s decision, which won’t be codified as law until a final vote is taken Thursday night, defines gender identity and expression as “gender-related identity, appearance, expression or behavior of an individual, regardless of the individual’s assigned sex at birth.”

Assigned sex at birth? Assigned? SERIOUSLY?

Allow me to offer a common-sense solution, guaranteed to be free of liberal, PC bullshit (below the NSFW fold):

Just how big is the stimulus package? Well for one, it has doubled the size of the House of Representatives, according to recovery.gov, which says that funds were distributed to 440 congressional districts that do not exist.

According to data retrieved from recovery.gov, nearly $6.4 billion was used to “create or save” just under 30,000 jobs in these phantom congressional districts–almost $225,000 per job. The web site operates on an $84 million budget and is tasked with monitoring the distribution of the $787 billion stimulus package passed by Congress–which, for the record, counts 435 members–in early 2009.

So let me get this straight. Taxpayers are spending $84 million to fund an organization whose purpose is to be, and I quote, “the U.S. government’s official website providing easy access to data related to Recovery Act spending and allows for the reporting of potential fraud, waste, and abuse.” In other words, the same congressweasels who crammed this massive spending bill down our throats, and who are tasked with doing the spending, have spent $84M to have that spending overseen by some idiots who either sent $6.4B out into the ether to bogus congressional districts, or who weren’t smart enough to figure out that if they wanted to hand it out “unofficially” to someone who wasn’t supposed to get it, they at least needed to claim that it went to a congressional district that actually exists.

The site’s monitors, however, are not too savvy about America’s political or geographic landscape. More than $2 million was given to the 99th District of North Dakota, a state which has only one congressional district. In order to qualify for 99 districts, North Dakota would have to have a population of about 60 million people, almost 24 million more people than California.

The stimulus revived 8 recently retired congressional districts. Pennsylvania’s 21st District has received just under $2 million in funds. Mississippi’s 5th District and Oklahoma’s 6th received $1 million from the legislation, respectively. All three were eliminated by the 2000 census.

Many other recipients carried the banner for congressional districts that have been defunct for decades. South Carolina’s 7th took the cake, garnering more than $27 million in stimulus funds, despite being eliminated in 1930. And Virginia’s 12th District may have been written off at the start of the Civil War, but it must carry some sentimental value in Old Dominion–it received more than $2 million, according to recovery.gov.

For God’s sake, my cats are smarter than that. As a matter of fact, one of them just muttered meowed something in my ear: he wonders if any of these congressional districts might have also played a role in getting Obama elected…and how they might affect things in the upcoming census.

Who knows. But I betcha the government would be happy to use millions of taxpayer dollars to create a website to “disclose” some made up bullshit about that, too.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 32 people during its two-day “crime suppression” crackdown, officials said Tuesday.

On Monday, Arpaio kicked off the operation by targeting areas along Interstate 17 in Anthem.

In one instance, 18 people in one vehicle were arrested on allegations that they violated the state human-smuggling law, which allows recent illegal immigrants to be charged as co-conspirators in their own smuggling, officials said.

Others were arrested on charges that ranged from unpaid traffic offenses to possession of marijuana to refusing to show ID.

What a concept: a lawman actually enforcing the law. It’s hilarious that even as the feds try to inhibit his effectiveness, he just keeps on doing the job he was elected to do by the good people of Maricopa County.

Here’s a stimulus success story: In Arizona’s 15th congressional district, 30 jobs have been saved or created with just $761,420 in federal stimulus spending. At least that’s what the Web site set up by the Obama administration to track the $787 billion stimulus says.

There’s one problem, though: There is no 15th congressional district in Arizona; the state has only eight districts.

And ABC News has found many more entries for projects like this in places that are incorrectly identified.

Methinks that’s what we get when we elect a Community-Organizer-in-Chief who cut his political teeth in Chicago.

On Nov. 4, the day after his last attempt to raise the issue, he took extra target practice at Stan’s shooting range in nearby Florence, Texas and then closed a safe deposit box he had at a Bank of America branch in Killeen, according to the reports. A bank employee told investigators Hasan appeared nervous and said, “You’ll never see me again.”

Captain Surman told investigators that Hasan had formally contacted military prosecutors to report patients he was evaluating, according to people briefed on the exchange. She said Hasan signed his e-mails with “Praise Be to Allah.”
